Field trip to Mount Edgcumbe

15 April 2018

Region: South West

A total of 14 members and non members arrived at Mount Edgcumbe for a days photography and after the recent weather it was a pleasure to see some sunshine. We set off around the formal garden area with the intention of stopping at The Orangery for coffee after an hour or so. Coffee, and cake taken by some, we then set off to head towards the house via the coastal path and taking in the sights along the way with spectacular views over Plymouth. We then took lunch at The Stables coffee shop, with lots of chat amongst the group on what they had taken during the morning. The group then went their own ways, some taking back to the gardens, one dog amongst our party managed to fall into a pond, which caused some hilarity but the need to keep the dog running around to dry off.

Some of us then made our way towards Cremyll and ended up sitting outside the pub, with alcohol of course, watching a destroyer leaving Devonport Naval Base.

A very good day, and many thanks to Helen and James Moore who had organised and led the day out.
