Details:   As a London Region Member, you are invited to submit up to four images for a chance to have your work shown at a London Region Exhibition of Member’s current work.  The Exhibition will be launched in Central London in October and our plan is for it to travel to various parts of the Capital thereafter.

Conditions of Entry:

  • You must be an RPS London Region Member (Note 1)

  • You may submit up to four images

  • Any genre of photography may be submitted but your images must be suitable for display to a wide “family” audience and of suitable quality

  • The closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday, 17th September 2017

  • The images must be the sole work of the photographer.

  • We define current work as that being taken within the last eighteen months i.e. between March 18th 2016 and the closing date for submissions of 17th September 2017

  • The photographer will own the copyright but agrees that any or all of his/her images may be used by the RPS for publicity and related purposes.

  • Images will be selected by a panel of three, whose decision will be final

How to Enter:

  • Send up to four JPEGs for review by the Selection Panel to: Londoncompetitions@rps.org

  • Images should be sized at 1200px on the long edge at 72 dpi, with a resultant file size of between 500 and 750 Kb

  • File names must be in the following convention:: RPS Membership Number_01/02/03/04_Title and Description, for example:  12345_01_Richmond Park in Spring.jpeg

  • N.B. Your name must not be included in the image title or on the image itself as selection will be anonymous.

If your image or images are selected:

  • You will be notified by the end of September 2017

  • After you have been notified, yoiu will be asked to send high resolution images for print by 7th October.   We will advise details of size etc. at the time we notify you.

  • EXIF data may be requested for selected images and photographers must be prepared to provide this.

  • You will be asked to pay an Entry Fee of £15.00 for each selected image, to cover printing and mounting and the cost of the opening night event.

For our Part:

  • Our objective is to put together a balanced Exhibition of work which represents a broad variety of styles and genres from the London Region Members.  We will endeavour to hang work from as many photographers as possible, but this will depend on:  the quality of the images and the number of entries vis-à-vis available hanging space.

  • The decision of the selection panel will be final.

  • Those with work selected will be given priority invitations for the Opening Night at the Croatian Embassy in October.

  • After the initial display at the Croatian Embassy, we are intending to “travel” the Exhibition round various parts of London so that the images are seen by many more people across town.  Each Exhibition/location may include a different selection of images from the previous one.  Please let us know if you have a local library or gallery which you think would be suitable to host our Exhibition.

Timetable
